Our Story

Welcome to the website of the Refined Rustic Studio & Gallery, located on the historic 700 block of downtown Lake Geneva, Wisconsin. Launched from our original Chicago gallery in 2008, our unique retail and on-line experiences feature reclaimed vintage finds, uncommon decorative accessories, and other carefully selected decorative products for the home.

Under the creative direction of Artist and Design Professional Philip Sassano, we reinvent fragments of history in our rural workshop in Northern Illinois, and pair them with the other unique elements that define our Midwestern Refined Rustic style. Artistic, innovative and always changing, our decidedly different shopping experience, encourages guests to reconnect with found object materials and other offerings that create more meaningful and authentic environments.

Featured in both the Chicago Tribune and Chicago Home & Garden Magazine, our studio’s one of a kind found objects and unique lighting can also be seen enhancing the environments of Simple Café in Lake Geneva, and Starbuck Coffee locations throughout the United States.
